MUFTI IBRAHIM KURESHI
Mufti Ibrahim Kureshi was born in Toronto, Canada where he completed his secular studies. In 1987, he began his Islamic education in Cornwall, Ontario by starting the Hifz (memorization) of the Qur’an. Soon after, he moved to India to complete his Hifz and enroll in the Alim program in Jamiah Al-Uloom Al-Islamia in Dhabel, Gujrat. In Dhabel, he studied Qira’at, Qur’anic sciences, Hadith, Hanafi fiqh, Usul-ul-fiqh, Arabic grammar and etymology under the guidance of some of the most prominent Islamic scholars in India.
After graduating from the Alim program, he moved to South Africa where at Madrasah Arabia Islamia in Azadville he completed the takhassus fi ‘l-ifta (specialization in issuing legal verdicts) program in one year.
Mufti Ibrahim presently teaches, counsels, issues fatwas and delivers lectures in various Islamic institutions around Toronto and abroad.
MAWLANA HAMOOD ALEEM
Mawlana Hamood Aleem was born in Saudi Arabia and later moved to the United States to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science. After graduating, he worked as an IT professional in several Fortune 500 companies. He then traveled overseas to formally study the Islamic sciences under senior scholars. In Pakistan, he studied the Darse Nizami curriculum and graduated at the top of his class with a degree and formal authorization in the Islamic sciences, including ijazahs in the six major books of Hadith from his teachers.
Mawlana Hamood teaches in the Alim program at Al Khalil Academy in Toronto. He serves as a part-time imam at the Muslim Welfare Centre in Mississauga, Ontario, in addition to teaching various subjects, such as Tafsir, Ulum al-Qur’an and Fiqh, at Rayyan Institute in an online setting.
He presently resides in the Greater Toronto Area with his wife and children.
MUFTI YUSUF LULAT
Mufti Yusuf was born in Toronto, Canada. After completing his secular studies, he began his journey to obtain scholarship in the Islamic sciences at the Madrasah Arabia Islamia in Azadville, South Africa. There, Mufti Yusuf dedicated six years to the Alim program, studying Qira’at, Qur’anic sciences, Hadith, Hanafi fiqh, Usul-ul-fiqh, Arabic grammar and etymology, graduating with distinctions. Thereafter, he completed the takhassus fi ‘l-ifta (specialization in issuing legal verdicts) program over a period of two years.
Mufti Yusuf currently teaches students in their initial years at Al-Khalil Academy and at various other academic institutions throughout the GTA.
